Kate Beatty is an independent educational consultant, professional development leader and author of educational resources. With over 30 years of experience, Kate has held educator and leadership positions in U.K., European and International schools during her long career. In the International school sector, Kate provides educational consultancy services to international schools and facilitates professional development training for groups of school leaders and educators, as well as presenting on 21st century education topics at international conferences.
Kate holds an honours degree in Music and English from the University of Wales, a Master of Arts in Education Management and she completed postgraduate education studies at the University of London. Kate is an International Baccalaureate MYP, DP and Continuum (PYP, MYP, DP, CP) face-to-face/online workshop leader and school accreditation team member. She visits many schools each year and leads workshops for hundreds of new and experienced IB teachers internationally both on site in international schools and at regional events. Kate also undertakes independent education consultancy projects regularly in which she designs and leads tailor-made professional development for schools focusing on pedagogical topics such as assessment strategies; approaches to learning skills; concept based and inquiry teaching and learning; curriculum design and evaluation; differentiation; inclusion; interdisciplinary learning; leadership strategies and school policy creation.
Kate is an experienced Council of International Schools visiting team leader, member and reader and an International Baccalaureate visiting team accreditor. She utilizes her coaching skills with schools who are in the candidacy, authorisation and evaluation phases of CIS or IB school accreditation and she provides support for the process of self-study.
